Inside the front cover of the ACLS and PALS textbooks is a student website.  Navigate to the site and enter the key found in your book.  View and study, then proceed to the self assessment and take the exam.  Please use this guide for study to assure you can meet the standards of the course.  Print the score, greater than 84% with your name and bring the sheet to the course. 
 
Current BLS card is a prerequisite to the course.  If your BLS is or is about to expire, notify PRN prior to the class day to arrange for renewal.  PRN    
Requires American Heart Association CPR Healthcare provider only.

Objectives:
  • Recognize and manage peri-arrest conditions that may result in cardiac arrest or complicated resuscitation outcomes
  • Demonstrate proficiency in providing BLS and integrating an AED
  • Manage cardiac arrest until the return of spontaneous circulation, transfer of care, or termination of care
  • Recognize and manage acute coronary syndromes
  • Recognize and manage acute stroke
  • Demonstrate effective communication as a member or leader of a resuscitation team
 
 
Continuing Education Credit
AHA offers Continuing Education credits through CECBEMS for EMS students who have successfully completed the ACLS Provider classroom course.  CECBEMS is a national provider of continuing education credits for EMS professionals only.Because the continuing education approval process for nurses and physicians is much more involved, CME/CE credit for these professions will not be available through the AHA at this time.Continuing education credit will continue to be offered for multiple professions for completion of the HeartCode® ACLS Part 1 program.
